Client:
ASC AVCAN Systems Corp. - Vancouver, BC

Client's Request:
To provide an easy solution for aligning the axis of two cameras with the axis of a fibre optic rate sensor.

Overview of KLN's Contribution:
Design of an alignement procedure and design and construction of all necessary jigs permitting to laterally and rotationally align the axis of the two cameras with the axis of a fibre optic rate sensor.

Detailed Outcome:
An innovative combination between a modified plumb bob, a laser pointer, a precise geometrical target (visible for the daylight and the infrared camera), as well as a precisely orthogonally moving swivel mount yielded the tools necessary to align the relevant system components.

The setup as indicated above yielded a system accuracy well sufficient to support the client's accuracy requirements. Further, it is easily adaptable to support different camera and sensor configurations.
