Power Supply - AC Version for Parking Meter
Client:
Park Ur Self System Inc., Petaluma, CA
Client's Request:
To design a power supply for parking meters that combined an
interchangeable switching regulator with a power distribution
board in a very confined space.
Overview of KLN's Contribution:
Electronic and printed circuit board design, electronic and
mechanical assembly, and manufacturing of batches of 25 to 100
units each.
Detailed Outcome:
Issues that had to be dealt with included space limitations,
thermal management, high current loading, avoidance of EMI
and the integration of several protection circuits.
They were all successfully resolved. After testing the product
intensively, Park Ur Self contracted KLN to manufacture it for
them.
This power supply has been manufactured perpetually since
over eight years. Batch sizes vary between 25 and 100 units,
depending on our client's demand. This work involves not only
electronic assembly and testing, but also screen printing of
the face plate and mechanical assembly of the latter one
together with the 2 PCBs.
