Coin Release Actuator
Client:
Park Ur Self System Inc., Petaluma, CA
Client's Request:
To design a coin release mechanism for parking meters that
would use an electrical signal to activate the mechanical
coin release arm of a standard coin changer.
Overview of KLN's Contribution:
Electronic and mechanical design of the coin changer, as well
as batch production of this electro-mechanical assembly.
Detailed Outcome:
A sturdy sheet metal chassis supports a rocker arm which is
activated by an electric motor via a robust cam follower.
An electric interface board receives the activation signal
from the computer, senses the position of the cam and controls
the current through the motor.
